OPENING A RAILWAY SECTION

(By Telegraph — Per Press Abbuj Ution) FLAXBOURNE, April 1.8. The Seddon-Ward- section of iie South Islang- Main Trunk Railway, 14 miles 44 chains in length was opened on Saturday by the Hon. R. McKenzie in 1 the presence of a very large assemblage of settlers. The train brought a big crowd from Blenheim and Seddon. 'After short speeches by the Minister and Mr J. Duncan, member for the district, the train steamed into the platform and severed a ribbon held by two of the oldest lady resident in the district. After a formal opening the Minister was entertained at a banquet by the Land Railway League and Chamber of Commerce.
