Montgomery, Secretary ,pf the 'Customs Department, have been appointedmembers of the Civil Service Officers' Guarantee Board. « Nominations for the election of Mayor and Borough Councillors will be received .by the Town Clerk until noon to-day. There is no likelihood of the Mayoral election being contested, tout a large number of, .candidates is expected for councillors.' All the old' councillors, with the exception of Messrs Tennent and Bignell, intend to seek re-election*
