APRIL 15—16—17. i Putiki, s.s, 157 tons, Captain Wahlstrom,. for Timaru. Pukaki, s.s, 917 toris, Captain Carey, for Dunedin. Annie Hill, schr., 121 :-ms, Cavt&in Williams for Lyttelton. The Arahura arrived from -Well ington ,via ports, yesterday arid sails on return at 10 o'clock this morning. i After her present trip the Pukaki , will go into dock at Port Chalmers for her annual overhaul. The Flora, which has been converted into a collier, will take up her running. She will leave Dunedin on the 20th. The Kittawa sails to-day for Lj'ttelton and Timaru with a cargo of timber. • . The Kini sails to-day for New Plymouth and Onehuraga. The Kawhai sails to-day for Timaru, Oamaru and Dunedin. The Koonya is due from Dunedin and East Cape ports on Friday. She loads for Dunedm and the Bluff. The Kotuku is due from Lyttelton on Friday, and sails on her return on Saturday. \ The Poherua arrives on Wednesday from Wellington, and loads coal for the same port. The Kaiapoi arrives from Wellington on- Thursday, and loads timber for Sydney. ■.
A cable from Ottawa says that in the official inquiry Into the wreck of the Iroquois. the captain of the steamer admitted that he went home after landing in a liieboat and did not wait to search tor bodies. The deck hands declared 'that n numiber women passengers decided to leave the vessel before the start in consequence of them weather. The captain told them not to be cowards and they returned aboard, and all were drowned.
