TERRIBLE TORNADO.
TOWNS. WIPED OUT. (By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) / — — — NEW YORK, April 13. There has been an extraordinarily violent tornado in the states of ..the Middle West. No fewer than fourteen towns in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahama have been wiped out by the tornado. Twemty-ifive known fatalities are recorded, while over one hundred pei*eons have 'been seriously injured. The damage totals several millions. It was the most disastrous tornado ever known in the districts affected. NEW. YORK, April 14. The tornado wiped out the town of Bigheart, in Oklahama, ten being- killed. A relief train has been despafrKeA to the devasted area. ,all communication with it being 1 cut off. The town of Witingrs, in Kansas,, has also been wiped out. Sixty houses there were wrecked. There are many dead and injured in the town. The wife of a. farmer was swept from the steps at her home, and cafnied a distance of half a mile. .She was picked up dead. At Eskridge the *chool was badly damaged, dozens of the pupils beinginjured. A vnri} .was - killed at Hiawatha thrmrsrh the collapse of "the school. The total death roll exceeds a score.
