The weather was beautifully, fine for the Patea races. -There was a large attendance. £8,116 passed through the machine as against £5,713 last year. . •

Entering home on the turn, Tim Glenn fell and J. Ross, his rider, was rendered unconscious and was removed to the' Patea Hospital. Tim Glen has since died.
