MEXICO CITY, April 14,
The rebels attacked A°:ua Frieta on Tuesday night which was captured after a fierce battle. Thousands of Americans watched the conflict from tne frontier. Several spectators were wounded (by stray bullets.
The Federal head quarters was wrecked by an explosion during the engagement. The garrison of seventy gallantly defended, .but were overpowered.
The Federals fled across the frontier .where- the Americans disarmed them. ' ■-'■
A report from Douglas, Arizona, states that American troops' crossed the border and stopped the, .battle,' after r Douglas had, suffered* from firing for three hours.
One American was killed and several were wounded by flying bullets.
