OVER 100 MILES AN HOUR (
Driving Mr .Gordon Watney's Mercedes at Brooklands, M. Laurent beat the flying half-mile record in the 60---h.p class by covering the distance at the fast speed of 109.051 miles per hour. Over a flying kilometre, Mr Laurent travelled at exactly 108 miles per hour. The previousi figures for the half mile record were made at 108.352 miles per hour
