(Uy Telegraph — Per Press Association) WELLINGTIN. April 10. in the Appeal Court case of Rex v. Harvard, alias Shepherd, a prisoner, charged with stealing a sheep dog and on a second count of receiving it knowing it to be dishonestly obtained, the jury found that there was not sufficient evidence to prove thialt ' the accused stole the dag, and i on the second count that prisoner detained the dog knowing it had been stolen. . The Court held that the verdict was ambiguous and inconclusive, not showing where the guilty knowledge arose and ordered a new trial upon the second count at the next Palmerston North sittings.
