The local weather report yesterday was : — Wind, south-west, fresh breeze ;. barometer, 30;20; thermometer, 59 degrees ; tides moderate, bar 'heavy. ■Rev. Bates wired yesterday as follows : — • "Expect westerly heavy igale. Very heavy rain may be expected ; 'glass fall fast, but there are indications for glass rase fast after twenty-four hours ; tides good, and sea very heavy.
