Vlie Copyright .Bill seeks, to effect the recommittal of the 1908 Berlin convention, which includes dramatised novels, translations, artistic and architectural works hitherto excluded. The copyright protects musical works against mechanical reproduction. Future copyright will subsist" for tTie life of the author and fifty years thereafter. Power is given to the comptroller of patents" to license the publication of books unduly" witff held from the public.
Mr Brixton said that he believed the BUT would " assist the publication of cheap editions.
