The father is claiming ten thousand sterling- damages and bitterly complaining that the newspapers and the Admiralty have not expressed regret. The case raised a debate in the House of iCommons. Mr McKenna expressed his unqualified regret. It was finally agreed that Lord Mersey fix the compensation amount of the law costs. Mr Ramsay McDonald protested. The sitting was devoted to Messrs Archer, Shee, and O'Grady who were called to order for terming the debate a "dammed scandal." Mr McKenna announced that in the interchange of naval information between Britain and Germany they had agreed upon the principle.
