Rev. Bates wired yesterday, as follows :— "Southerly strong winds to gale, probably backing termporaily. Expect showery arid changeable weather ; river high ; glass fall slowly, but glass rise after sixteen hours ; good; sea rough, and sea increasing on the coast."
