Rev. iD. C. Bates' summary and forecast is as follows :— 'Qlqudy and ■misty weather lias prevailed, and rain lias fallen in scattered places. Dense fogs were reported last night. The barometer has fallen to 29.52 in. at the Bluff, but remains ,a)bout the same in the north. Easterly and northerly winds' have prevailed .and increased in the south. Present indications are for moderate to strong: northerly winds, veering- to westerly, northward of New Plymouth and Na,; pier, strong- northerlies and westerlies veering to southerly elsewhere for a short time. After about 20 hours unsettled and cloudy weather, with rain following-. The 'barometer is due to rise on Friday night.
