RACING NOTES.

(Our Special -Reporter.) JNepct week we will have the Easter meeting of the Greymouth Jockey Club' and judging 'by the splendid lot of horses in training, it should prove one of the best meetings ever held on the West Coast. Yesterday morniiig I had the pleasure of witnessing the work of a number of horses. Hereward works very early. He is a full brother to Adria. He looks a bit rough and I cannot fancy him at all well to '"race. After breakfast the following horses did useful work, . iKing Try. went twice round the plough 1 track at a good half pace. This horse looks in splendid fettle. Pure Rose and Surmount ran half a mile on the .grass in 55. North Pole went twice round on tile grass from half to threequarter pace. 'Contingent went once round at halt pace. Rurik and Waiwareware went twice (round at a good working gallop. Both are looking very fit. Expansion and L'Agrion ran half a mile on the grass in 55. The Orient and First View ran once round on the grass in 1.22. The Orient had the best of the gallop. Divorce and Moata ran a fast half mile on the plough track. Both were under a strong pull. *eodel and Mania went half a mile in 54. Yeodel had the best of the go. Tangaroa and Gold Braid did useful work once round the course. Tangaroa is a little bit on the light side. Supplement ran (five furlongs in I.V easing up the last two (gallops. Miss Sylvia and Mangrove ran a good half mile. No'rdoff was worked slow for four times round. This horse is a bit sore and it is doubtful if he ,will see out the Easter meetings. THe following horses were worked at slow pace: — Balmy Breeze, Shannon Lass, Miss Shannon, Red Wing, Coronet. The cup candidate, Aberration, did not put' in an appearance.
