A LETTER FROM AMUNDSEN. L X v Electric T elegraph — C ?p/n& hi.) (Reed 10.30 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, April 5. L-aptain Amundsen has written to the Committee of the Fram expedition apologising for not keeping in communication and stated that having changed hs plans was the reason for secrecy, and he was apprehensive that the committee might en deavour to dissuade him. His motive tot the change of plans was the hope "that the discovery of the South Pole would induce his countrymen to accord sufficient financial support for an expedition to the North Pole.
