GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
[press agency.] Wellington, Sept. 14. The House met at 2.30 p.m. The Treasurer announced that the Government intended to respond to an application from the Superintendent of Auckland, and purposed to advance the first instalment of LISOO in order to carry on education in that Province, and such further sum as might be necessary, should the Committee not direct otherwise. It was expected some Ministerial statement would be made regarding the negotiations going on between the Government and Opposition, but none was made. The consideration in Committee of the Abolition Bill was postponed till 2.30 to-morrow; * On the motion of the Treasurer, in Committee of Supply, the Treasurer moved that a sum not exceeding L 250,000 should be granted by way of Imprest Supply Bill in addition to that already voted. The Bill was advanced a stage. The Debtors and Creditors Bill and Fraudulent Debtors Bill, the Bills of Sale Bills, and other Bills, were read a Becond time • The Native Minister moved that the House be adjourned till 2.30 to-morrow.
