The proposal submitted to the New South Wales Assembly by Mr Burns, Postmaster-General, regarding the New Zealand telegraph cable, is that a subsidy of i>7500 per annum be granted for ten years, two- thirds to be paid by New Zealand, and one-third by New South Wales* The minimum charge for ten words to be seven shillings and sixpence, and the cable to be laid within twelve months. We presume this is in accordance with the arrangement made by Sir Julius Yogel with the Eastern Telegraph Extension Co., and no doubt the New Zealand Parliament will be called upon to ratify it.
