At a meeting of the.City Council last night all the members but two resigned, in consequence of a resolution passed by a meeting of the ratepayers that the Council had lost their respect and confidence. Everything is in confusion. The Corporation has an overdraft of LI7OO at the Bank, which dishonored their cheques yesterday. Christchuroh, Feb. 3. During 1874, 24 vessels containing upwards of 9000 immigrants, arrived in this, province, against 12 vessels with 2163 immigrants in 1873. John Mercer has been formally committed for trial for the murder of Isabella Tompson.
