Bangi, in preliminary canter bolted off the course, and jumping the ditch fell heavily on Adams, the,rider, who escaped unhurt. Bangi, it was at first feared, was seriously injured, but seemed soon to recover from the shock and walked off the course. The race was thus left to Toi, which cantered round. Handicap Hurdle Bace, §^soys. —Kate, 9st 91b, 1 ; Strange^ 2. Six ran. Kate went off with the lead, but was soon overhauled by Arrow, which maintained first place until she came to the seventh hurdle, which she refused, aud fell behind. " Kate kept the lead thereafter till the finish. Hack Hurdle Baco, 15 sovp. — Stranger, 1 ; Doctor, 2. Grand Stand Handicap — Templeton, 1 ; Parawhenua, 2 ; Tatterina, 3. This was a capital race, and was won by only half a neck.
