The following remarks, taken from the Melbourne "ArgUß," show what Colonial stewards and efficient secretaries of race meetings can and will do to prevent the public from being swindled. Qhe paragraph is one bearing upon the last race meeting at Melbourne, and reads: — "The secretary of the club, Mr Bagot, must' be complimented on the very complete arrangements which were made for the comfort and convenience of the visitors during the meeting. It may be mentioned that on Saturday Mr Moran, who was disqualified in connection with the Flying Dutchman case some yeare ago, was turned off the course by the direction of Mr Bagot ; and Mr Walker, the owner of the Marquis of Lome, who was also recently disqualified, but who was preßent on the grand etand, would have been treated in a similar manner had the secretary been able to discover him,
