S« far from the; alleged Truck System being unsatisfactory to us— or giving cause for complaint— we have to state that your providing us with goods, . or accommodation, has been necessary/and beneficial and that you have supplied us ou more moderate terms than.we; could have obtained elsewhere. . No- complaints have ever originated on the works j such remarks aud complaints as have been made, emanated., from persons who have no direct interest in the matter. We have, also, to atste that in this matter we have always been left to oar own discretion, receiving our wages on demand, and free to deal where and with whom we please ; and that we have not known of a single instance where a man has been discharged for not dealing with you, or' coerced to do so directly or indirecty.
