Town sections in Westporfc are rapidly increasing in value, as shown by recent sales. Early potatoes, of good quality, from Mokihinui, have been sold in Westporfc. Mr J. A. Crawford has been appointed Postmaster at Brighton. The costliness of the law wai shown at Picton the other day. A man was sued for tcwn and education rates levied on sixteen sections, and amounting to L 2 3s 9d. Thirtytwo complaints were laid against the man, and he had to pay Ll6 sterling as costs.
