[anglo-atjstr^lian press telegraph AGENCY.] Auckland, Oct. 21. After being locked up all night, the jury in the "Star" libel case was discharged without a verdict. It is understood that eight were for not guilty and four for guilty. At the Bank of New Zealand meeting the report showed Bet profits L 45,70 3; balance from last year, L 13,212. A dividend of 10 per cent, was declared and a bonus of ss ; balance carried forward, L 13,916. The report was adopted. The Hon. James Williamson was elected a director, vice Taylor, resigned. Taylor elected auditor. Westport, Oct. 21. The steamer Kennedy, while preparing to leave the wharf this morning for Nelson, settled down a large snag and remains fast. The position of the snag is under the ship's quarter. Dunedin, Oct. 21. Stockowners in the Tuapeka and Dunstan districts have sustained great loss owing to the severity of the weather. Sutherland and Poison lost 200 lambs. All the single girls per ship Invercargill have found employment at from L 26 to .L 32 per annum. The supply is still inadequate to the demand.
