"VT O T I O B In pursuance of the provisions of "The County of Westland Act, 1868," notice is hereby given that the District Board of the Paroa Road District, by resolution bearing date the Ist day of October instant, did make and intend to levy a GENERAL RATE of ONE SHILLING in the POUND on all rateable property within the said district, to which end an Assessment 8011, showing the annual value of such property, and the rate on each pound thereof, has been made out and posted at the Road Board Office, Paroa (Davidson's Paroa Hotel), together with an Estimate of the Works intended to be executed by the said Board, and of the amount required to be raised by rates. And notice is hereby further given that APPEALS against the said Assessment Roll, or any part "thereof, will be heard and determined by the said Board at a SPECIAL MEETING, to be held at the Road Board Office, Paroa, on THURSDAY, the 22nd day of OCTOBER instant, at 1 o'clock p.m. Provided that notice in writing of such appeals shall have been given to the Clerk of the said Board at least three days before the time appointed for hearing the same.
