I [ATUaZO-AVSTRALIAN PRESS TELEGRAPH AGENCY.] Wellington, Sept. 16. His Excellency left in his yacht, the Blanche, for a cruise this afternoon. He will probably call at Picton and Nelson. The Luna brings the M'Gregor's mails. She left at midnight. The Murray will convey the Nelson and West Coast mails. Nelson, Sept. 16. A fatal accident is reported from the French Pass. On the Ist September two Maoris and a white woman named Eliza Smith attempted to cross from d'Urville's Island to Elmslee's in a dingy. The boat was sucked under by a whirlpool, and the Maoris drowned. Smith kept afloat by a paddle and stripped. Her cries were heard by Elmslee who, with her brother and Webber, put out and rescued her juat as she was sinking. Auckland, Sept. 16. Messrs Yogel and Russell left by the s.s. Macgregor at midnight last night.
