In the Supreme Court yesterday, before Judge Chapman, Jatnes Smith moved for a rule nisi calling upon James Macassey, plaintiff in the case Macassey v. Bell, to show cause why he' should not answer the complaints in connection with the publication of a letter in the " Otago Daily Times " in reference to the case, and the Judge's order about the production of telegrams. A rule nisi, was granted. Auckland, August 6. Mr Von der Hyde has sat on fourteen grand juries, also on one speceial jury, when damages were awarded Macfarlane. He holds the commission of the peace, and in that capacity signed many legal documents. If he is proved an alien, serious complications will arise. Counsel for Craig moved ,in the Supreme Court, to-day, for a rule to set aside the award in the arbitration case of Craig and Macfarlane. .
