GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

[ANGLO- AUSTRALIAN" PRESS TELEGRAPH AGENCY.] Wellington, Aug. 5. In both Houses to-day, Committees were appointed to inquire into a breach of privilege of the "Tribune " newspaper for publishing an Auckland telegram, purporting to be evidence by Judge Ward before the Ward-Chapman Committee. The business this afternoon generally was of a formal nature, possessing little or no public interest. The recommendations of the Speaker on the Manawatu-Rangitikei claim are to be considered by the House on Tuesday.
