THE GREY AND MARSDEN ROAD.
[to the editor.] Sir— ln reply to the letter from the contractor of the Marsden road, which appeared in the Argus, I beg to state that the contractor's conditions were to finish the work in one week, while a month has now goae by and nothing done yet to speak of. The contractor originally made this piece of road, and if done according, to the. conditions of tender it could never have got into such a deplorable state. The Government holds me as mail contractor strictly to the fulfilment ,of my contract, and I cannot see the justice to have horses and vehicles ruined by tlie partiality shown towards one individual at the pecuniary loss of another. ! . . lam, &c.,!§ ! : Donald Cameron.
