Mr Commissioner Parris is now negor tiating for the purchase of another block of native land of from sixty to a hundred thousand acres. The native chief says it will take two years to survey it. A man has been founi after wanderiug in the bush for three weeks, during which time he subsisted on toitoi, reeds, and leaves. When found he was a mere skeleton, not weighing more than forty pounds, although, when lost, he was a big and powerful man weighing at least twelve stone.
