Besides the private telegram received by Mr Harrison yesterday, his Honor the Superintendent received the following telegram from the Hon. the Premier, which he has courteously placed at our disposal : — " You are very kind in renewing the invitation to me to visit Westland, and expressing your own wish that I should come. You would do me a greater kindness if, in explanation to the people of Westland of my inability to come, you would 'assure" them that it results from no want of desire on my part to visit the Province, nor from want of interest in it. I have not at all forgotten my promise, and I have endeavored to see my way to visiting Westland, but I find that the work I have to do in anticipation of the session is so extremely onerous, that it is impossible I should do myself the pleasure. I shall feel personally obliged to you if you will do for trie the best you can in making known why I am unable to visit your Province."
