Ex Albambra, from Melbourne: 61 cases, trusses, and packages merchandise, 27 kegs butter. From Nelson: 1 keg butter, 39 cases, 4 do apples, 1 boat, 1 case, 2 bales leather, 1 keg, 3 bags oysters, 1 cask, 1 package, 1 truss, 1 case. The s.e. Kennedy arrived alongside the wharf yesterday at 1 p m., having left Hokitika at 10.30 am. She brings the Alhambra's cargo, transhipped at Nelson; and is announced to leave for Westport this morning- . : The brig Alice Maud, for Melbourne, was towed over the bar yesterday morning by the Dispatch, and being favored with a leading wind, was soon ont of sight. She took a large cargo of pine logs. ; By one of those freaks which only Captain *A 'Lean can explain, the s s. Otago cleared out at Nelson for Hokitika, and passed this port at an early hour yesterday morning Having been tendered at Hokitika. he returned here again in the afternoon, when the Dispatch was in waiting to transfer her outward and receive her inward passengers, but ■ it was too late on the tide to allow the Dispatch to return, and she had to remain outside until evening. The Otago took very few passengers from Greymouth. j Tne Tararu was due here from Melbourne direct last night, and may be fully expected to-day. She will have immediate dispatch for Northern ports.
