The Independent understands that the Government has been in communication with the Agent-General and home authorities on the subject of obtaining the Rosario as a training ship for seamen, and says that there is good reason to believe that one will be obtained from the Imperial Government. In the meantime commencement is about to be made at Auckland, Mr M'Lean having while in Australia arranged with the trustees for the use of the Mission Buildings and the schooner Southern Cross for twelve months. Mr Seed goes up from Tauranga to take possession and make a commencement as soon as circumstances will permit.
