I A fire, causing damage to the amount o&L100,000, has occurred at Holland and Son's cotton mills, near Manchester. But for the fact of a new mill having been erected, 600 hands might have been thrown ou t of employment. Advices from Archangel state that Greenland is suffering under a terrible famine; The seal-fishing having completely failed this year, the inhabitants are deprived of their usual winter food. At Naparoe 160 persons have already died from hunggr.
