Amusements. "VTE W RIVER DISTRICT A SWEEPSTAKE ON THE GREYMOUTH JOCKEY CLUB HANDICAP, To be Run for on the 17th MARCH, 1874, Will be drawn AT MESSRS HAMILTON and CO.'S, Marsden. On MONDAY, the 16th MARCH, 1874, At 7 o'clock p.m., Under the supervision of a Committee appointed by the subscribers. Tickets - - .£IOO The number of tickets offered will be UNLIMITED, and to meet this the followng will be the scale of charges to cover expenses, viz.: — £100 10 percent. £150 ... ... 7& percent. £200 and upwards... 5 percent. And the balance will be distributed as follows : — First horse .. One-half Second horse One-quarter Third horse , One-twelfth Divided among starters ... One-twelfth Divided among non-starters ... One-twelfth Tickets can be had on receipt of Post Office order or draft, with exchange added, payable to J. Hamilton and Co.
