His Honor the Superintendent arrived in town last evening on a short visit. We are informed that in all probability the Provincial Council will be summoned some time early in next month. Ifc is not expected that the session will be a long one, as it is considered desirable that after the necessary formal arrangements are completed, and the most urgent matters dealt with, there should be an adjournment, to afford time for the preparation of such measures as may be thought necessary for the year, after which the Council will again meet. It is probable that Mr John White will be proposed as Speaker of the new Council, tor which office his past experience of Parliamnntary practice, and his known painstaking character, constitute sufficient qualification. We are not aware whether his Honor will seek the aid of any of the members in the capacity of a Provincial Secretary and Treasurer, but should such a step be deemed advisable, it is probable that our previous prediction as to the holder of the offices will be found to be correct.
