Last Wednesday week, one Arthur Gordon, a miner, left Wasbman's Plat, in the Collingwood district, having in his possession a half pint of brandy. On stopping at a creek to get water, the underbrush being in his way, he, in attempting to clear it used his sheath knife, but in doing so stumbled and fell upon it, sustaining a severe wound in the stomach. He lay for some time bleeding, and being off the track and despairing of getting assistance he determined to end his sufferings by committing suicide. He then cut his throat, and was found three days afterwards by Mr Burbush, who had him conveyed to the Flat, where Dr Turnell attended him, and Gordon arrived in the Lady Barkly in charge of Constable Fisher and was conveyed to the Nelson Hospital in a terrible condition. The other day there was a little parliamentary discussion in the Florida Senate, in the course of which the President pi-Ji Vim was knocked down by an honorable member, and scattered over the floor, his wig going one way, a glass eye in another, and his false teeth in several. He asked ' time to " collect himself/ which was i unanimously granted. '
