The following is the result of the polling for the election 'of members of the Nelson Provincial Council far the city : — Rout, 285, Pitt 282, Greenfield 264, Acton Adams 201, Levastam 176, Hooper 132, urn 82. The first four were elected. Tatjranga, Nov. 11. The settlers are politically made regarding the Provincial elections. The polling takes place to-morrow. Reefton, Nov. 11. From the Just-in-Time claim, 308 tons of stone yielded I7Booz of retorted gold. Grahamstowkt, Nov. 11. Three cases of specimen stealing were called on in the Magistrate's Court this morning, and remanded till the 38th for the production of evidence. Alexandra, Nov. 11. Tawhiao's son has arrived here, and is staying at Finch's Hotel. He is waiting the arrival of Mackay and Te Wheroro, from Cambridge. He is visiting all parts of the township. Christchurch, Nov. I], The races have been an immense success. The Governor, Lady Fergusson, and suite arrived shortly after the first race. Mr Yogel was also present. Mr Nosworthy holds a sale of his racing stock on the 17th instant. Napier, Nov. 11. At the inquest on M'Laughlin, who died yesterday, while under chloroform,* Dr Gibbs was entirely exonerated from all blame. Wanganui, Nov. 11. The total result of the polling at the Superintendency election gives Carrington 324 ; Atkinson, 276 ; Brown, 172.
