CRICKET.

The annual match between elevens chosen from the married and single members of the Greymouth Cricket Club took place on Saturday, and created considerable interest, the game being watched by a large number of spectators. The Town Band was present, and greatly enlivened the proceedings. Since the last practice a great improvement was' shown in the bowling, Woods and Gleeson especially for the married, and Paul and Twohill for the bachelors, all bowling steadily on the wicket. On the whole the fielding was very indifferent, and capable of much improvement. The following are the scoreb : — SINGLE. 1-T.
