There is a Battery of Twenty Stampers at the Mine, ten of which have been in use for about three years, and are at present in perfect working order ; the others were recently erected, and only require the tables being laid to be ready for use. The mine : has been opened .in various places by levels and an inclined drive, < and the average yield has been over 7 dwts ; 19 grains gold, worth about 75s 6d per ounce. The power for working the ten stampers hitherto used is derived from a race, the flaming of which was all new, and the earthwork repaired in 1871, . and which can be made capable of carrying. sufficient water to drive the twenty stampers.
