The claim is situate at Bedstead Gully, Collingwood, and comprises over thirty-five acred held under lease, fourteen and a-half of which have been recently acquired. There is a Battery of Twenty Stampers at the Mine, ten of which have been in use for about three years, and are at present in perfect working order j the others were recently erected, and only require the tables being laid to be ready for use; The mine has been opened in various places by levels and an inclined drive, and the average yield has been over 7 dwts. 19 grains gold, worth about 75s 6d per ounce. The power for working "the ten stampers hitherto used is derived from a race, the fuming of which was all new, and the earthwork repaired in 1871, and which can be made capable of carrying sufficient water to drive the , twenty stampers. There is also a single-stamp Battery, Retort House, Manager's Residence, Stables, Huts, &c, and all the usual plant of a mine. ISSUE OF £250,000 NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT DEBENTSJRES IN NEW ZEALAND. Treasury, Wellington, Bth April, 1873. TENDERS are invited for the purchase of the whole or any portion of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government .Debentures, issued under the Acts of the Legislature of the Colony, en-' titled " The Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1870," and "The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-mentioned conditions : — 1. The Debentures will be payable to Bearer and will be issued in sums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures, which are secured on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony, will bear interest at the rate of 4percent. per annum, payable half-yearly, on the 15th day of April and the 15th day of October in each year, at the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Chnstchurch, Greymouth, Hokitika, Dunedin, or Invercargill. 3. The principal sum will be payable on the 15fch day of April, 1913, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any Branch of the Bank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, at the option of the holder, six months notice being required, previous to maturity, of the place at which payment will be required. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth day of May next, in the presence of such of the tenderers as desire to be present — the minimum price under seal being first placed on the table. In the event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excess of the issue, a pro rata distribution will be made. 5. The amount tendered for must be paid at the Treasury at Wellington, asunder: — 5 per cent, accompanying application ;* the balance on or before the 16th May, 1873, Or at the option of the purchasers :-? 5 per cent, on application. 20 per cent, in one month, \ 25 per cent, in two months, f with accrued 25 per cent, in three months, f interest. 25 per cent, in four months, ) * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will be entitled to interest from the 15th day of April. On payment of the final instalment. Debentures signed by the Agents appointed under the respective Acts, will be delivered to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent, brokerage will be allowed to brokers through whose applications sales are effected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on the 9th May, will be accepted, provided they are accompanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency of the Bank of New Zealand, notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid into the Bank of New Zealand, to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account.
