THE ARNOLD ROAD.
• (TO mE EDITOR.) , V Sir, — In your issue of the 4th instant, a paragraph appears stating that complaints are made commenting ,'pn* the state of the Arnold Road, from the'Omotumotu Creek, which, are totally without foundation. The road: will compare favorably with any in Westland, and it is a gross misstatement to assert that the culverts ara a foot above the metal. Haying had occasion to travel twice this week to Maori QuUy.and back, I paid particular attention to the condition of the road, and it has never been in such good condition 1 since it was taken over dh last December. ' Considering the limited means at the disposal of the Overseer, every credit is due to him for his indefatigable-exertions in keeping not only this but the-other roads in the district in, T^pair, in which statement I am sure the people of the Arnold will bear me out. ; , ? ,-, -?./ :. jr 1 am sir, &c, \ ? - ■. :Miß.Fox.
