The applicant was opposed by William Close. The applicant said he did not apply for the share held' by Close. It was the share of Michael Hartigan that he wanted. Nicol Browne, claimed ;'thV share formerly held by : _;Hartigany and; prbducbd "a 's'aleriote in his favor. The Warden called : f or the certificate, of registration *>f the claim. In examination it was found that the .claim -was- -registered on ; the 4th March, and the Court, inquired. wJiat work had been done on the'claim since. Close said he was ill, and Hartigan said a certain amount of surface prbspectinghad be^en done, but all the claimholders> on the le*ad were waiting . for accurate levels before they commenced regular work. The Warden, after commenting on the fact that a claim comprising an area of 120 by 1000 ft frontage had been allowed by the parties to. remain idle for a month, . while : other men" were seeking ground to.Vegin working in, granted the application of
M'Ginty. Browne's name was not on the certificate, either as an original share•holder or a transferee, therefore he had no legal claim. Close was warned to properly represent his share for the future, and Hartigan was put out of Court, as he had a claim elsewhere. - The following applications were=grant©dfr John O'Donneli and party, an area of 50ft x 300 ft; for a site for 1 a dam at the Two-Mile Creek, Nelson Creek. H. M. -Moore- and partyy 300 ft dam near Starvation Point, Upper Ahaura. Joseph Parker and Thomas Wilson, 200 ft x 1200ft,. for a prospecting area one mile from Noonan's Terrace, Orwell Creek ;-Jthie paSy to report progress at the Warden's Office on the 25th April. .
