Very unsatisfactory rumors respecting the fate of the immigrants by the Ulenora, which put in dismasted to the Mauritius, have reached Wellington. It appears that during the refitting of the vessel the captain made arrangements for the single girls amongst, the immigrants lodging in the convent. Whether the quiet of ttie establishment was too much for them, or the rules too strict, we cannot say, but we learn that after two or three days they left turning the convent topsy-turvy before so doing. Search being made for them, they were discovered in the military barracks. Though the captain remonstrated with them, they refused to leave their new quarters then, and there is every reason to believe they will eventually be left behind m the island. Should this tale prove correct, the loss of Messra Shaw, Saville, and Co. will be cppsiderable. as they are only paid for immigrants landed in the bolony, and they have had to pay for theit keep for many months.
