The s.s. JJaugitoto, from Melbourne, arrived at Hokitika during Tnesday night and was tendered there early on the tide yesterday. She came on here and the Dispatch ran out on the last of the name tide and tendered her, thus saving any detention. The Dispatch had to lie out all the afternoon, and returned to.port about nine p.m. with the Rangitoto's inward passengers. The s.s Alhambra is expected here tomorrow from Nelson, when she will ship passengers for Melbourne direct. The Sarah and Mary cleared out at Melbourne for this port on the sth inst. The Gleaner and Io were still loading when the Rangitoto left. A private telegram from Batavia says that the ship Whirlwind, from Hong Kong to Dunedin, had put in leaky. The vessel was b'kely to be condemned, but the cargo was sound.
