Per Charles Edward, lor Westport : 1 package, Thompson, Smith, and Barkley. For Nelson : 30 tons coal, Nancarrovv and Co. ■ The p.s. Charles Edward sailed yesterday morning for Westport and Nelson. The s.s. Tararua, from Melbourne, arrived off Hokitika, at noon yesterday, and was immediately tendered by the Waipara. She c&me on here some hours later, and was tendered in the evening by the p.s Dispatch. The s.s. Albion, from Nelson, arrived in the roadstead at 6 p.m. yesterday, and was tendered on the evening's tide by the p.s. Dispatch. She shipped a large number of passengers for Melbourne, and steamed away for Hokitika, where she would also be tendered last night. The oldest steamer in the world has been presented, by her owners, to the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. The vessel is named Industry, is 64 tons register, and was launched from the building yard of Messrs John and Win. Fyfe, of Fairlie, on the Clyde in May, 1814 She was the seventh steamer built on that river. Latteriy she has lain sunk in the East India Harbor, at Greenock. but some time ago she was floated and beached to be caulked, thereafter to proceed to Glasgow, where she will be preserved as a memento of the early days of steam navigation.
