The tide, I think, has turned in my favor, and if I can float thereon with as much credit to myself as my predecessor, I shall have attained the summit of my ambition ; and I assure you that if modest demeanour, energy, industry, and a desire to please will tell in my favor, why then, I here pledge myself to use every effort to enable me, with your support, to attain the same enviable position as a citizen as the late proprietor of the UNION HOTEL, which will, for the next few years (d.v.), be conducted by Your very obedient and humble servant, F.
