Per Gleaner, for Melbourne : 70 tons coal, 30 hides, order.
The p'B. Charles Edward, from Nelson, via Westport and Hokitika, arrived early yesterday morning. She discharged her cargo yesterday, and was to leave on her northern trip about three o'clock this morning. The Gleaner was towed to sea yesterday afternoon by the p.s. Dispatch, bound for Melbourne direct.
The B.s. Wallabi is expected early at Westport, with a cargo from Dunedin, and it is understood that she is to make periodical trips to that port and to tho Grey. Tenders are! called for by the Nelson Government for removing channel rock at the entrance to Nelson harbor.
Jt is notified by the Harbor-master at Westport that, owing to the removal of the flagstaff, on and after the 28th instant, the bar and danger signals and the harbor light will be exhibited from a temporary flagstaff on the Island opposite Packer's Point, and bearing by compass about south by east from the fairway of the new channel. The new flagstaff will be on the same bearing.
