That part of the country has been dangerous since the famine commenced. — Part of the 56th Regiment at Puna has been moved into camp on account of cholera. — The trials of itie rhea fibre machines at Saharanpur commenced on Tuesday last.— The 37th Regiment at Mianmir have been sent into camp on account of cholera. — During the month of Juno last there were 674 deaths from snake-bites and wild animals in the North- Western Provinces. — Dengue has now spread to Silhot and the Pnnjaub.— The 2-19lh Regiment has been moved into camp from Allahabad, in consequence of an outbreak pf cholera. — A report has reached Kabul that the Russians have taken two towns belonging to tho Atalik Gaa't of Yarkand. — Russian spies aro said to have arrived^at Chari Emagh, in Kandahar, disguised as Jews. — The Contagious Diseases Act is to be enforced at Agra.— The Maharajah of Jodhpur, with four thousand cavalry, four thousand infantry, and some guns, was, at the date of the last news, ten miles from Nagor, the town seized by his rebellions son. The latter had refused au offer of pardon, except unconditionally. The Political Agent was with the Mahrajah'a troops. — Captain Lindsay, < lately acquitted by Court-martial of being drunk on duty, is again being, tried for being drunk in quarters.
