Owing to the flooded state of tho river yesterday there were no arrivals or dopartures at this port yesterday. The p.s. Charles Edward will leave for tho north -when the flood subsides. The s.s. She was a vessel of 495 tons register, and was owned by Messrs J. W. Gladstone and Co, Liverpool. The following is a revised list of tho losses to the Newfoundland sealing fleet : — Scbrs. Dolphin, Sweot Homo, Seaflowcr, /Eneas M 'ln tyre, Mary Joice, Ellen, Glencoe Bros, Cecilia, Lord Clydo, Queen, Greyhound ; steamers Monticello, Retriever, and Bloodhound (with 1050 men, all saved) ; brig Huntsman, with master and son and 42 men. [The only vessels which have not previously boen reported are the Glencoo and the Queen.] Missing and given up :— . Schooners Dundannah, 31 men ; Village Bell, 18 men j Gertrude lost four men in a gale. Early in August, 20 men, the crew of a French vessel, arrived in Wick from Huna, near Duncansby Head. They report that on Sunday their vessel, the Esperanco, of Dieppe, Captain Caintrel, on her homeward voyage from Iceland with a cargo of fish, struck on St. John's Point, ia tho Pcntland Firtb, during tbo prevalence of a dense fog. Shortly after striking, the vessel was carried off the rocks by the strong tide which prevails in the Firth, and floated for some time, although making much water. When off John O'Groat's. she became unmanageable, and ultimately sank in ton fathoms water. The crew wero brought safely ashore, and a few barreh of cured fish were also saved by some Duncansby fishermen. The vessel and the balk of the cargo are totally losb. Both are insured.
