WESTLAND QUARTZ-CRUSHING COMPANY.

A meeting of creditors of the Westlahd Quartz-cruahing Company, Murray Creek, was held at Slattery and Sutherland's Hotel, on Wednesday evening last, Mr Morris Levy in the chair, .to consider the advisability of petitioning the Court to withdraw the Company from liquidation, ' with a view^ to some arrangement being come to which would enable the Company to continue operations and discharge their liabilities. Creditors to the value of LBSO were represented. MrMorrisLevyinformed the meeting of the position of the Company, stating that about LI3OO of unpaid calls remained to be collected, while an agreement had been come to with -the Machine Company under which both/ companies would participate in the profits derived from crushing for the public. He was not authorised to make any proposal on behalf of the Westland Company, but' as one of the shareholders and creditors he was anxious alike for the Company and the creditors that the winding-up order should be rescinded and time allowed for the discharge, of their debts. The following resolution was moved. by C. R. Nelson, seconded by Mr Oxley, and carried new." coti. :-r-" That this meeting of creditors in the Westland Quartz-crushing Company, Registered^ Murray Creek, expresses it willingness to afford time to the above Company for the payment of their several claims, in consideration of a majority of the shareholders in the Company immediately applying to the Judge of the District for an order to rescind the winding-up order made ; and that every opportunity will be afforded to the Company to resume the business of the same and call up the balance of unsubscribed capital, and that the directors be requested to incur no further liabilities on behalf of the Company until such time as the existing debts are liquidated." . , : .
